3 Year Structure
The M.Arch course has been designed specifically to allow students the opportunity to work in an architects practice while completing their Part 2.
We creatively explore the relation between the academic and intellectual work in design studio with the realities of contemporary practice. We work with a range of regional and national architectural practices to stimulate this discourse.
Each year of the course has one day per week in which tutorials, workshops and seminars are concentrated. Students are obliged to undertake an additional 20 hours per week of self-directed study. We recommend that students who are working assign 2 working days per week to the course if possible.
Because of the amount of credits that are completed each academic year, students on the 3 year course are classed as full-time – even though it operates like a part-time course. This means that students retain the benefits of full-time status, including being eligible for finance from Student Finance England.
